TOPIC: Parenting Kids from Hard Places 101
Children in foster care have experienced trauma in one way or another, and because of these difficult experiences in their young lives, they need to be parented with trauma in mind. Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is a parenting strategy developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development, designed to promote health and healing for children from hard places. During this training session, you’ll get an overview of TBRI from Dr. Kristyn Carver, and will learn some of the positive effects implementing TBRI can have on the children in your home.
This session is good for 1.5 hours continuing ed for foster parents.
Dinner will also be provided.
